Chanticleer Tree

Beautification has a Memorial Tree Program to enhance and re-green our Hamlet. This program is available to businesses and families that wish to commemorate someone special, living or deceased.   Originated in 1989, the Association has planted hundreds of trees throughout the community.

The trees planted are known as Chanticleer Tree (from the Bradford Pear family) which at full height will grow to  a medium height.  This height prevents the trees from interfering with overhead electric lines and ate approved by New York State,Suffolk County, LIPA  and the Town of Southampton.  These trees will not produce fruit but do blossom and provide a beautiful white flower in the Spring.

Included with each tree planting is a 4″ X 6″ personalized, engraved plaque that is mounted onto a poured concrete base.  This plaque is placed at the base of the tree.   It is truly a beautiful way to remember and memorialize a loved one.  For More information, call Jack O’Keefe at 631-728-5725 or write to HBBA at PO Box 682 Hampton Bays, NY 11946
