Memorial Tree Program Print

One of the various services that the Hampton Bays Beautification Association provides the community is a Memorial Tree Planting Program.

Originated in 1989, the Association has planted hundreds of trees throughout the community.

The trees planted are known as Chanticlear Tree (from the Bradford Pear family) which at full height will grow to only a medium height.  This height prevents the trees from interfereing with overhead electric lines and consequently are approved by New York State and the Town of Southampton.  These trees will not produce fruit but do blossom and provide a beautiful white flower in the Spring.

Included with each tree planting is a 4" x 6" personalized, engraved plaque that is mounted onto a poured concrete base.  This plaque is placed at the base of the tree.  It is truly a beautiful way to remember and memoralize a loved one.
