Hampton Bays Beautification Association is celebrating it's 25th Anniversary (1985 to 2010) Join Us Today
What a Perfect Night On Friday evening August 5th, celebrating its 25th Anniversary the Hampton Bays Beautification Association held its 13th Annual Free “Concert Under the Stars” featuring “The Fabulous Grease Band” at Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays. The evening was perfect, warm and breezy with a beautiful sunset, as thousands sat overlooking the bay and the ocean listening while others danced to the wonderful sounds of the band. We would like to thank the Town of Southampton for co-Sponsoring this event. Allyn Jackson, John Erwin and Chris Bean and the entire crew of the Parks and Recreation Department did a really commendable job. Also, kudos to Southampton Town Human Services for the shuttle busses, Town of Southampton Highway Department, Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance, Hampton Bays Volunteer Fire Department and the Southampton Town Police Department for the extraordinary job they did. I would also like to thank the Hampton Bays Beautification Association volunteers who put this wonderful event together. Thousands of people have enjoyed this free event….both young and old alike. It takes place at Ponquogue Beach. Families make this a reunion type event and come early in theday to enjoy the time together. It is heartwarming to see the senior citizens turn out for this happening and they look forward to it from year to year.Amazingly enough, the young also are smitten with this music and can be seen dancing with their parents in front of the bandstand.

Thanksgiving and Holiday Decorations are another area that HBBA enjoys in making our Hamlet look festive. The committee meets in October 2010 and places new Fall Banners on the antique lamp posts on Main Street. After Thanksgiving the committee meets again and puts up the holiday lights and our new Happy Holiday Flags. Join us and volunteer to help. Check the calendar for the date and meeting times. Celebrate Fall with our Annual Dinner Dance which is held in a beautiful waterfront restaurant, Indian Cove. The committee puts on a splendid party with great food, drinks and music. The Holiday Luncheon is our last event of the year and will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from Noon to 3PM We spend the afternoon enjoying a fabulous lunch overlooking the Bay at the beautiful Oakland Restaurant. The volunteers are honored and thanked at this event and the "Annual Angel of the Year" Award is presented. A good time is had by all. A very Special Thank You to Riverhead Building Supply for donating the lumber for the HBBA 2010 St Patrick's Day Parade Float. Mike Daly and Jack O'Keefe and their talented volunteers built an amazing replica of the Ponquogue Bridge.
