Mr. Zappone said he is especially excited to see his first concert in the new amphitheater, which will be able to accommodate as many as 800 people at once. On the southernmost portion of the park, the finished amphitheater boasts both stone and informal hillside seating that circles around an elevated stage.

Among the first groups to perform on the new stage will be A&G Dance; Charles Certain, a jazz band; Kevin Kearny Band, a blues band; the vocal performer Darren Ottai; and the Jan Hanna Band. David Funn will also be at the park to do magic and balloon tricks, and the Quogue Wildlife Refuge will bring animals for a small petting zoo. There will be food vendors, and for children there will be apple and pumpkin crafts as well. Additional information is available at www.southamptontownny.gov
